The INSEAD case study on MAS Holdings wins 2009 European Case Award

The INSEAD case study on MAS Holdings titled ‘MAS Holdings: Strategic Corporate Social Responsibility in the Apparel Industry’ was awarded an ECCH European Case Award.

The case written by Professor Jonathan Story and Noshua Watson of the INSEAD Business School, France published in March 2006, won the award for Economics, Politics and Business Environment and focused on using corporate social responsibility as a strategic tool in global competition.

A press release by MAS stated that as a manufacturer of intimate apparel, sportswear and casual wear for brands such as Victoria’s Secret, Nike and Marks & Spencer, the company had made a concerted investment in being a socially responsible company.

The European Case Awards recognise authors and institutions of cases that have achieved the highest growth in popularity worldwide. INSEAD Business School won four of the nine categories at the competition, a testament to the high quality of teaching materials being produced by the faculty.

These winning cases were chosen for their popularity in universities and business schools worldwide. INSEAD has also published a second case titled ‘MAS Holdings: Leveraging Corporate Responsibility’ written by Professor Amitava Chattopadhyay, the press release said.
