Settled down in Sri Lanka in 1999 with the opening of its maiden venture Omega Line Ltd, Calzedonia Group cruised along to pave the way for some of the massive ventures in Apparel Manufacturing in Sri Lanka such as; Sirio Ltd (2002), Omega Line 2 in 2005, Alpha Apparels Ltd (2007) and Alpha Apparels 2 and Benji Ltd (2008).

All these state of the art factories are characterised by their greatest flexibility to cater to a vast product mix of underwear, knitwear and easy wear under three different brands Intimissimi, Calzedonia and Tezenis, with razor sharp quality and unmatchable delivery standards.

The new "Vavunia Apparels" factory of Omega Line Ltd, will help increase Calzedonia production capacity in Sri Lanka, in order to facilitate the growth of the company and the opening of new stores.

As the President of Calzedonia Group, Mr. Sandro Veronesi, claimed that, "Following the invitation by Sri Lankan government, the choice was made for Vavuniya with the will of collaboration in the reconstruction process in the less fortunate lands of the country after decades of war. The fight against unemployment is the first step in creating economic independence and wellness. We have always been welcomed in Sri Lanka: the opening of the 7th factory here proves that the relationship between Calzedonia, the institutions and people is absolutely positive."

The new factory, when at full throttle, will be able to create job opportunities for nearly 3,000 youth.
